Ashiatsu Traditional Chinese Massage

This ancient healing art has been in practice since 3000 BC. Traditional Ashiatsu massage is based in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is performed by practitioners who have been trained to take a whole-body approach to wellness. Ashiatsu is a type of massage therapy in which the therapist walks on the client’s body, using bars and other props for support to vary pressure and weight. In traditional Ashiatsu, the client lies on the floor or on a massage table in loose, comfortable clothing while the practitioner walks across his or her body, using the feet to target specific pressure points. A support bar may be used to help assist the practitioner to preform precise direct movements. This Oriental massage therapy is specific in its actions in that its foundation of Chinese medical theory and Vedic-Thai healing systems makes it a form of medical bodywork.
