Swedish massage
Not just your average Swedish massage, a massage at Relax! Massage Therapy ensures that you do just that, RELAX! The massage begins with gentle strokes and kneading to find bands of tension stored in your body. Then, oil is applied and the relaxing begins. This massage technique uses long flowing strokes to soften muscles, smooth connective tissue, and melt stress away. Different modalities are employed as needed; a touch of Reiki to aid in healing, a bit of reflexology to attend to achy parts, some cranio-sacral massage to release neck and shoulder tension, or a trigger-point release in the shoulder blades to relieve that sore spot.

Therapeutic massage
This massage focuses on specific problems that need attention. If you have a backache, shoulder pain, neck and headaches, or another problem area, therapeutic massage may be the answer. Using a combination of therapeutic techniques, we will help give you the relief you seek. Often one to two treatments can solve the problem, but severe or chronic aches may take longer. The goal is to get you well as quickly as possible so you can then enjoy regular “feel-good” massages, and most importantly, life without pain.

Trigger Point Therapy
Often used in conjunction with Swedish or Therapeutic massage, TPT targets the release of trigger points, a hyperirritable spot that is painful when compressed. When an active trigger point is successfully quieted, often referred pain and dysfunction will decrease.

Deep Tissue Massage
Different regimens or massage styles that are directed toward the deepest tissue structures of the muscle and fascia (connective tissue). The aim is to affect the layers of fascia that support muscle tissues and loosen bonds between layers of connective tissue.

Hot Stone Massage
Aaahhh…..there’s nothing like the soothing relief of hot stones to melt away your aches and pains. This luxurious treatment involves the placement and use of heated stones on pressure points and muscle tissue. The heat from the stones penetrates the muscle tissue and softens fascia (connective tissue) to allow a deeper massage with more comfort. The stones increase relaxation and enhance your overall feeling of well-being.

Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy ®
Ashi (foot) atsu (pressure) A barefoot massage technique using deep compression gliding strokes over the body, this massage is for the person who wants a very deep, yet soothing massage. Ashiatsu is perfect for the person who suffers from chronic back pain or prefers deeper work. This treatment is guaranteed to induce deep relaxation, relieve tight muscles and stimulate the body’s own self-healing capabilities. This massage is not recommended for women who are pregnant or trying to conceive, people with acute heart conditions or high blood pressure, or those on prescription anticoagulants.

Couples Massage
A chance to enhance your romance! Couples massage is a wonderful way to build intimacy with your partner. I bring the table, music, and Romance oil. First, I massage her while teaching him a few simple massage techniques. Next, I massage him while she soaks in the tub or learns her own massage techniques. When we’re done, I exit and leave the rest of the evening up to you! Too tired for romance? Then, you don’t have to do a thing! I’ll just give each of you a relaxing massage.

Four Handed Massage

Cranio-sacral Therapy
Cranio-sacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle form of manipulation of the cranio-sacral system. The cranio-sacral system consists of the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord and includes the skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium, and the sacrum (tailbone). Cranio-sacral therapy has proven effective for the relief of migraine headaches, chronic neck and back pain, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, central nervous system disorders, temporomandibular joint syndrome (TMJ), Scoliosis, and fibromyalgia, among other ailments.

Reiki (Pronounced RAY-KEY)
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning “Universal Life Force Energy”. Reiki is a simple, hands-on healing method that is completely safe. Its purpose is to activate the healing energy within us. A person can experience emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual healing through Reiki massage. Reiki is not a religion or belief system; it is simply positive “Life Force Energy” that is channeled through the practitioner’s hands into you. A Reiki session is done clothed; you may or may not “feel” the Energy moving in and through you.

I am a trained Reiki Master so I also teach Reiki and offer Reiki classes and attunements. These classes are available for Reiki Level 1 and Reiki Level 2 and need to have a minimum of two students to hold the class.

Aromatherapy
Aromatic essential oils are used in conjunction with massage to induce relaxation, increase energy, reduce the effects of stress, and restore balance to body, mind, and soul. Custom blends can be created to address areas in your body or your life that need attention. There are anti-anxiety oils and sprays, muscle tension and pain relief oils, dry skin therapeutic lotions, and even blends that deal with stress, sleeplessness, arthritis, aging, etc. There really is an essential oil for everything!

Couples Massage Workshop
Fun, practical and informative, this workshop is designed for couples who want to learn safe and effective massage techniques to use on each other. You bring some blankets, pillows and each other, we’ll supply the oil, the music and the knowledge. You’ll have an enjoyable and relaxing day and leave with the skills you need to safely massage each other whenever and wherever you want. Workshops are scheduled at different times throughout the year and are limited to three couples. Workshops are approximately three hours and can be scheduled by appointment if you have friends you would like to share this day with and do it together.
- 3 Hour Workshop $200.00 per couple
Chair Massage
A short seated massage that lasts anywhere from 5-20 minutes, chair massage is done on-site, with a special chair that allows you to get your back, neck, head, shoulders, arms and hands massaged leaving you de-stressed and rejuvenated. You stay fully clothed and no oil is used. A great way to lift employee morale and productivity, or treat friends and loved ones at a gathering.
- First Hour $80.00, $1 per minute afterwards
